Elastica Raises $30M in Series B Funding

elasticaElastica, a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of cloud app security services, raised $30m in a Series B round of funding.

The round was led by Third Point Ventures with participation from Mayfield Fund, Telstra and Pelion Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Robert Schwartz from Third Point, joined Elastica’s board.

The company, which had previously raised $6m in a Series A round, intends to use the funds to further accelerate its global expansion, channel sales, engineering, marketing and research teams.

Led by Rehan Jalil, CEO, Elastica provides a security platform  to leverage cloud applications and services while staying compliant. A range of security apps deployed on the platform deliver the full life cycle of cloud application security, including auditing of shadow IT, real-time detection of intrusions and threats, protection against intrusions and compliance violations, and investigation of historical account activity for post-incident analysis.
