Altair Semiconductor Completes $25M Funding Round

Altair Semiconductor, a Hod Hasharon, Israel-based developer of LTE chipsets, completed a $25m funding round.

Backers included existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners, BRM, Giza Venture Capital, JVP and Pacific Technology.

The company intends to use the funds to further strengthen its position in the single-mode LTE market as well as to support high volume product deployments from its largest customers.

Led by Oded Melamed, Co-Founder and CEO, Altair develops ultra-low power, small footprint and high performance 4G semiconductors. The company’s product portfolio includes baseband processors, multi-band RF transceivers for both FDD and TDD bands, and a range of reference hardware and product level protocol stack software.
Altair’s chipsets have been integrated into more than 100 different product models, including tablets, Ultrabooks, portable hotspots, USB dongles and routers, designed by more than 30 customers across North America, Europe, China, India and Taiwan.
