Team8 Closes Second Company Creation Vehicle, at $85M

team8Team8, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based think tank and company creation platform specializing in cybersecurity and data resilience, closed its second fund, at $85m.

Team8 Partners II, L.P., received support from Microsoft, Cisco, Walmart, Airbus, Softbank, Barclays, Moody’s, Munich-Re, Nokia, Scotiabank, Dimension Data, Temasek, Innovation Endeavors and Bessemer Venture Partners. In exchange, these companies will gain access to innovative and emerging cybersecurity companies and thought leadership opportunities through Team8’s network.

Led by Yuval Shachar, Executive Chairman, Nadav Zafrir, Chief Executive Officer, Liran Grinberg, Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer, Israel Grimberg, Chief Innovation Officer, Assaf Mischari, Head of Research, Lluis Pedragosa, Chief Financial Officer, Eldad Rom, VP of Organizational Development, Team8 leverages an innovation process that combines a research team with knowledge of cybersecurity, access to cyber talent, and a global network that gives backed companies access to customers, partners and key influencers.

To date, it has backed:
– Sygnia, which was acquired by Temasek for $250 million, after Team8 had invested $4.3m three years ago,
– Claroty, which recently raised $93m from industry leaders Rockwell, Schneider Electric and Siemens,
– Illusive Networks, which has received total investments of $33M from Microsoft, Cisco and Citi, among others,
– Hysolate, which closed a funding round of $18m.
