Edia Learning, a US based provider of an AI platform that helps students succeed at math, closed $9.4M funding round.
The round was led by Felicis.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its development efforts.
Founded by Joe Philleo and Iain Proctor, Edia provides an AI platform that allows students to improve their math scores. Edia has built a unique interaction (based on typing Chinese characters) for students to easily “type math” on their Chromebooks. As a result, students show their work and AI gives them personalized feedback. It uses AI to break questions into step-by-step guides, so that students can productively engage with the problem, rather than giving up or cheating. Edia uses AI to predict student proficiency on state standards from work in class, homework, and quizzes. Teachers then get real-time data (vs. waiting months until the end of the quarter) to identify where students are and form small groups to help them fill in gaps.
