Pivot3, an Austin, Texas-based developer of hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) solutions, raised $45m in equity and debt financing.
Backers included new investor Argonaut Private Equity, which joined S3 Ventures, InterWest Partners, Mesirow Financial Private Equity and the Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati investment fund. As a part of this round, Steve Mitchell, managing director of Argonaut Private Equity, will join Pivot3’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to invest in sales and marketing, recruit talent across multiple job functions in various geographies globally and expand on its channel partner strategy.
Founded in 2002 and led by Ron Nash, chairman and CEO, Pivot3 provides purpose-built, hyper-converged infrastructure appliances for the video surveillance, VDI and data center markets.
It has more than 1,600 customers around the world in the healthcare, government, transportation, entertainment, education, gaming and retail vertical segments deploying more than 13,000 globally hyper-converged infrastructure appliances.
