Doximity, a San Francisco, CA-based professional network for doctors, closed a $54m Series C financing.
The round was co-led by DFJ and funds and accounts managed by T. Rowe Price Associates, with participation from funds and accounts managed by Morgan Stanley Investment Management and returning investors Emergence Capital Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures and InterWest Partners.
The company intends to nuse the funds to expand operations and offerings in 2014.
Launched in 2011 by Jeff Tangney, CEO, Doximity offers a suite of free professional tools for physicians including a mobile collaboration platform, targeted recruitment services and personalized medical news alerts.
