Skimlinks Raises Funding

Skimlinks, a London, UK-based provider of in-text monetization solutions, completed a growth financing round of undisclosed amount.

The round was led by Greycroft Partners, with participation from Japan-based angel investors Hiro Maeda and Ryota Matsuzaki, Forum Foundry, a Texas-based network of blog and forum communities, as well as existing investors. In conjunction with the funding, Ian Sigalow, Co-Founder and Partner at Greycroft Partners, will join Skimlinks’ Board of Directors as an Observer.

The company intends to use the funds to further develop its solutions, and continue its geographic expansion across the U.S., Asia, and Europe.

Founded in 2007 by CEO Alicia Navarro, Skimlinks operates a network of 140,000 active publishers including Conde Nast , Gawker, AOL Europe, WordPress, Hearst Digital, Haymarket Consumer Media, Telegraph Media Group. The company is planning to build upon the rich data it collects to help publishers earn even more revenues from the purchase intent generated by their content.
Skimlinks, which has additional offices in San Francisco and New York and will expand operations to Asia this year, has 55 employees.
