Skimlinks Raises $4.5M in Series B Funding

Skimlinks, a London, UK-based in-text monetization platform for Web publishers, has raised $4.5m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments, with participation from new investors 500startups and Venrex Investment Management and existing investors Sussex Place Ventures, The Accelerator Group, and NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts).
The new funding brings the total amount raised by the company to date to $7.5m.

Skimlinks intends to use the new capital for growth in existing and new vertical markets within the United States and around the globe, as well as product research and development.

Co-founded in 2008 by CEO Alicia Navarro (see photo) and Joe Stepniewski, the company recently released SkimWords 2.0, its new real-time and automated content monetization solution to feature in-text product and price comparison across multiple vertical categories.

Skimlinks has a team of 30 people, based in London, San Francisco, and New York.
