PeerDB Raises $3.6M in Seed Funding

PeerDB, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a data movement platform for PostgreSQL, raised $3.6M in Seed funding.

The round was led by 8VC, Y Combinator, Wayfinder Ventures, Webb Investment Network, Flex Capital, Rogue Capital, Pioneer Fund, Orange Collective, and several angel investors.

The company intends to use the funds to continue building its engineering team, and accelerating its go-to-market and client acquisition initiatives.

Led by CEO Sai Krishna Srirampur, and CTO Kaushik Iska, PeerDB optimizes and accelerates data movement between PostgreSQL and data warehouses, queues, and storage engines for cost and time savings and higher data quality, AI analytics, and insights.

Postgres encompasses use cases such as:

  • Fast and cost-effective replication to data warehouses.
  • Real-time streaming and change data capture.
  • Database migrations.
  • Enterprise-grade Postgres high availability (HA) and backups.

Customers include Harmonic AI, Expedock, Fiber AI, and Flatiron Health.
