Backers included Omidyar Network, 500 Startups, Nazca Ventures, Amasia Ventures and Y Combinator.
Led by John Freddy Vega, Platzi aims to help entrepreneurs develop the skills they need to build and grow their own business idea by offering livestreamed professional skills courses about professional skills, in both Spanish and English.
Users can choose from a wide range and growing number of specific topics, including programming, design, project and team management, SEO and SEM, the legal basics of launching a startup, the meaning behind key clauses in term sheets and more.
The company offers subscriptions for $29 a month, or $299 annually.
