IPR.VC Holds First Closing of €100M Fund

IPR.VC, a Helsinki, Finland-based management company, announced the first closing of its latest film and television production financing fund to date (IPR.VC Fund III).

The final target is €100M.

Led by Timo Argillander, Managing Partner, IPR.VC manages investment funds that finance content production in the media and entertainment industry. The parent company IPR.VC Management Oy was founded in 2014 with the first of three funds launched in 2015. Over this time, the firm has moved from an initial phase of investment in Nordic scripted projects including Netflix hit Bordertown, to recent years establishing strategic long-term slate-wide partnerships with US and European film and television producers including A24, XYZ Films and European animation studio Gigglebug. It is regulated along EU alternative investment fund manager (AIFM) regulations by the Finnish Financial Supervision authority with offices in Helsinki and London. 

In total to date IPR.VC has financed 35 productions across film and television.

The firm also announced the appointment of Andrea Scarso to the executive team as Partner and Investment Director. Based in the London office, he joined with over fifteen years’ experience in media and entertainment financing, including the sourcing and evaluating of projects, running of commercial negotiations, and managing aspects of film and television projects’ production and exploitation.
