Pickle, a NYC-based peer-to-peer rental marketplace making local closets shareable on demand, raised $8M in Seed funding.

The round was led by FirstMark Capital and Craft Ventures with participation from Burst Capital. FirstMark co-founder Rick Heitzmann will join Pickle’s board of directors, alongside the founders. Craft co-founder and StubHub founding CEO Jeff Fluhr, along with FirstMark principal Derek Chu, will serve as board observers.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its growth, expand its team, facilitate entry into additional US markets, and launch new categories.

Led by CEO Brian McMahon, and COO Julia O’Mara, Pickle is a peer-to-peer rental marketplace that makes items from community’s closets available for rent on demand. With listing processes, flexible pricing, and rental periods, an extensive selection of apparel, and different delivery options, the company makes it easy to keep items in rotation, explore different brands and styles, and earn passive income on items already in customers’ closet.
