Riverse Raises €1.5M in Funding

Riverse, a Paris, France-based startup specializing in the decarbonization of the European industrial sector, raised €1.5M in funding.

The round was led by Speedinvest, with participation from additional investors including Techstars Berlin and Evolem, as well as business angels including Stephan Rohr, co-founder and CEO of TWAICE, Eric Bergé, Tobias Lechtenfeld, partner at 1.5° Ventures, and Andreas Wiele, founder of OakTree Power.

The company intends to use the funds to grow the team, further develop the platform, and expand into Germany and the UK.

Founded by Ludovic Chatoux, Grégoire Guirauden, and Clément Georget in 2021, Riverse enables industrial GreenTech SMEs in Europe to issue carbon credits quickly and at a low cost. The company, which focuses on Europe, is targeting circular economy projects close to the value chain of companies seeking quality carbon credits.

Using software developed by its team, Riverse digitizes the measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) process for carbon credit issuance. The process includes:

  • A comparative life cycle assessment to determine the impact of each project,
  • A digital report is then shared with an independent third-party auditor for validation of the credits, along with automated verification of the impact,
  • Information on certified projects is then listed transparently on a registry connected to a network of carbon credit resellers.

With a network of carbon credit sales partners such as Ceezer, Sweep, and Greenly, Riverse has already certified 9 projects including Ecodair, Cycle Up, and Be Energy. More than 10 additional projects are currently in the process of certification.
