Vark, a Tokyo, Japan-based provider of a virtual live music event platform, raised USD7.2M in First Close of its Series C funding.

The round was raised through a third-party allotment of new shares to SBI Investment Co., Ltd., and NetEase Games in addition to existing investors JAFCO Group Co., Ltd., Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co., Ltd., and ANRI.

The company intends to use the funds to strengthen its product development system to take on the challenge of developing new businesses, such as VARK SHORTS, using the lean startup method.

Led by CEO and Founder Takuya Kato, and COO Yutaka Sugimoto, Vark is a provider of a virtual live music event platform, and metaverse templates. The company has developed businesses such as VARK SHORTS, a video creation support tool for 3D avatars. It has been used by more than 10,000 users within just a few days of its release, while its metaverse templates have also been used for large-scale events such as the TV Tokyo Virtual Music Festival, a collaborative event with Dentsu Inc. and TV Tokyo Corporation.
