PetPair, an Austin, TX-based provider of a pet adoption marketplace, raised $1.2M in Pre-Seed funding.
The round was led by Bling Capital with participation from Expansion Ventures, Divide by Zero, Newlin Ventures, Great Oaks VC, and Hornet Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to expand nationwide to foster its caregiver network.
Led by CEO Daniel Miyares, PetPair uses a Foster-Centric model to move pets out of shelters into the homes of volunteer fosters or adopters. In the foster home, the animal benefits from a stable environment with human attention and directed training. Its Foster-Centric operational model unifies animal welfare organizations (AWOs), volunteers, and pet-centric businesses around the adoption outcome.
