Writer, a San Francisco, CA-based writing assistant for professional users, raised $21m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Insight Partners with partcipation from Gradient Ventures, the Todd & Rahul Angel Fund, Scott Belsky, Oliver Jay, Jack Altman, Allison Pickens, Packy McCormick, Lenny Rachitsky, Austin Rief, Ankur Nagpal, Alex MacCaw, Camille Ricketts, Vivek Sodera, Julia Lipton, and James Beshara. In conjunction with the funding, Ryan Hinkle, Managing Director at Insight Partners, will join the Writer board.
The company intends to use the funds to invest in product, engineering, and GTM hiring.
Led by May Habib, CEO and co-founder, Writer provides a platform that gives companies content guidelines, makes brand compliance simple, and uses in-context coaching to teach team members how to write using their company’s voice.
The company currently serves more than 150 companies, including InVision, Bill.com, Vistaprint, Handshake, Deloitte, and UnitedHealthcare.
