Abbot’s Butcher, a Costa Mesa, CA-based premium plant-based meat company, closed a Series A Funding round of undisclosed amount.

The round was led by聽Melitas Ventures.聽Owen Wilson聽and聽Woody聽and聽Laura Harrelson聽joined the round, along with existing investors聽Unovis聽and聽SOSV.

The capital raise will be used to accelerate food service growth, expand retail distribution and support new product development.

Founded in 2017 by Kerry Song, CEO, Abbot’s Butcher, Abbot’s Butcher offers a line of “everyday essentials”, including a plant-based Ground “Beef”, “Chorizo” and Chopped Chick’n. Its products are crafted from pea protein, vegetables, herbs, spices, extra virgin olive oil and vinegars. The company’s plant proteins are free from soy, canola, gums, natural and artificial flavors, and synthetic chemicals.

Abbot’s Butcher is available in more than 800 retail and food service locations across the country.
