Morressier Raises $18M in Series A Funding

Morressier, a Berlin, Germany-based virtual conference and publishing platform for the scientific community, raised $18M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Owl Ventures with participation from existing investors Cherry Ventures and Redalpine. Existing investors in Morressier include industry experts Annette Thomas (The Guardian, Clarivate Analytics), Jan Reichelt (Mendeley, Kopernio), Martin Jagerhorn (AVEDAS), Jan Maier (AVEDAS), and Pote Lee (iGroup).

The company intends to use the funds to scale its team across all departments, further grow its platform technologies. accelerate its growth and launch new community and analytics features that will increase collaboration and foster an ongoing conversation around conference content.

Launched in 2014 and led by Sami Benchekroun, Morressier is a virtual conference and publishing platform for the scientific community. The system connects, indexes, and publishes all conference submissions in a digital library, ensuring this content can be accessed long-term and reaches an expanded audience beyond the initial attendees.

In the past three years, the company has launched a Washington, D.C. subsidiary and expanded its offerings into publishing technology, partnering with ACS, IOPP, and SPIE on workflow, integrative solutions, and content hosting.
