Bloomscape Secures $15M in Series B Funding

Bloomscape

Bloomscape, a Detroit, MI-based modern online garden center delivering a large variety of quality houseplants directly from the greenhouse, raised $15m in financing.

The round, which brought total fundraising to $24m, was led by General Catalyst, with participation from Bob Mylod, Jeff Boyd (Home Depot Board of Directors and formerly Chairman of Booking Holdings) and John Replogle (formerly CEO of Seventh Generation and Burt’s Bees) and existing investors Revolution Ventures and Ludlow Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Joel Cutler, co-founder and Managing Director of General Catalyst, and Bob Mylod, Managing Partner at Annox Capital Management, will join Bloomscape’s Board of Directors.

In addition to the funding, the company is announcing the acquisition of Vera, a plant care app, which will provide customers access to plant care tips and content, troubleshooting, watering reminders and more, for an undisclosed amount.

The company will use the funds to:

  • Continue to grow premium plant care offerings including the newly acquired Vera by Bloomscape app and extending its line of care products
  • Grow the team
  • Build an innovative distribution model
  • Expand product offerings
