You.i TV, an Ottawa, Canada-based provider of software tools for addressing cross-platform app development, received an investment from Sky, Europe’s media and entertainment company.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed. The investment is part of the company’s larger You.i TV Series C funding announced in November 2018.
With this investment, David Beazley, Director of Software Engineering at NOW TV, Sky’s online streaming service, will join the board.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the expansion of its global footprint and developer community.

You.i Engine allows customers to build personalized, profitable experiences quickly on all platforms – mobile devices, set-top boxes, game consoles, and streaming devices – from a single code base.
Organizations such as A+E Networks, AT+T, Fox, NBA, Twitch, and SKY are spearheading direct-to-consumer and OTT strategies using the company’s Engine-powered TV applications.
