You.i TV, an Ottawa, Canada-based provider of software tools for addressing cross-platform app development, closed a USD $23M in funding.
The round was led by Causeway Media Partners, with participation from early backers WarnerMedia, Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, and Vistara Capital Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Bob Higgins, partner at Causeway Media, joined the board of You.i TV.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its global presence, developer community, and reimagine the ad experience.
Co-founded by Jason Flick and Stuart Russell, You.i TV provides tools for development teams to unify their app strategy and build applications. Starting with video-first experiences, the product platform enables teams at every stage of their development process from initial concepts, to development, compiling, testing, and deploying applications in market, to build personalized experiences quickly on all platforms – mobile devices, set-top boxes, game consoles, and streaming devices – from a single code base and to engage users, create customers, and fans.
Customers include A+E Networks, AT&T, WarnerMedia, NBA, Warner Brothers, National Geographic, and Fox, among others.
You.i Engine has been licensed in major industry genres, including entertainment, kids, sports, and news.
