Norwest Venture Partners Promotes Jon Kossow to Managing Partner

Norwest Venture Partners, a premier multi-stage investment firm, promoted Jon Kossow to Managing Partner.

Kossow joined Norwest in 2009 as a Partner to build the firm’s growth equity practice. Under Kossow’s leadership, Norwest has made 17 strategic growth and buyout investments in companies and the team has grown to 12 investment professionals.
In his new position as Managing Partner, he will continue to focus on growth equity opportunities across a wide range of sectors, including information services, software, internet, and business services.

With nearly 20 years of investing experience, Kossow has leveraged his expertise in multiple sectors to make strategic investments and serve as a dedicated partner to portfolio company executives. Kossow’s most recent investments include Infutor and Cority. Successes include 1010data (acquired by Advance), Clarus Commerce (acquired by Trivergance), The Rainmaker Group (acquired by RealPage) and The Retail Equation (acquired by Appriss).
He currently serves on the boards of Avetta, Cority, Infutor, Manta Media, The Rainmaker Group, Topo Athletic, and Wine Access, with additional active investments in ACL, Appriss and TurnItIn.

Prior to joining Norwest in 2009, Kossow was a director at Goldman Sachs, where he headed the San Francisco office for the firm’s Americas Special Situations Group. Previously, he served as principal at TA Associates in Menlo Park, a private equity firm with $24 billion in capital under management, where he led TA’s West Coast Business Services Practice.
In addition, Kossow has worked with such companies as 5.11 Tactical, Asurion, Babcock Jenkins, Circle Graphics, CoreLogic (CLGX), Logistics Health, TogetherSoft, Voyant Technologies and WebSideStory.
He began his career managing strategy development and campaign management for several Fortune 500 companies at Leo Burnett USA, a global advertising agency.
