Freshdesk Acquires Konotor

freshdeskFreshdesk, a San Francisco, California-based provider of cloud customer support software, acquired Konotor, a mobile first user engagement platform.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

Led by Srikrishnan Ganesan, Deepak Balasubramanyam and Vignesh Girishankar, Konotor provides businesses with a platform to engage with users in a proactive and contextual manner through features like rich two-way messaging, in-app support and marketing automation.
Customers include Target, Zomato, Times Internet, Faasos, and, among others.

Led by Girish Mathrubootham, CEO, Freshdesk provides cloud-based software that allows organizations to support customers through email, phone, websites, forums and social media. The company, which has a development center in Chennai, India, has 50,000 customers around the world, including 3M, Honda, Hugo Boss, University of Pennsylvania, The Atlantic, and Petronas.

It is backed by  Target, Qualcomm Ventures, and Accel Partners.
