ToyTalk , a San Francisco, CA-based family entertainment company that creates conversational characters, raised $15m in funding.
The round was led by Khlosla Ventures with participation from returning investors Greylock, Charles River Ventures, True Ventures, and First Round Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Khosla partner Samil Kaul will join the ToyTalk board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its Engineering and Production teams.
Led by Oren Jacob, ToyTalk develops conversational characters for kids, and for the whole family. Products include:
the Winston Show, an iPad app where kids and characters have real conversations,
SpeakaZoo, a zoo where users talk with the animals, and
SpeakaLegend, a talk & touch speech recognition app.
