eToro, a London, UK-based social investment network, secured a $27M equity round of funding.
Backers included Chinese venture capital firm Ping An Ventures, a VC under Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, and SBT Venture Capital and current investors Spark Capital and BRM Group. The financing also includes a credit facility from Silicon Valley Bank.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, expand into new regions including China and Russia and roll out the expected product roadmap.
Led by Yoni Assia, CEO and Co-Founder, eToro is a social investment network which enables every investor to see, follow and automatically copy the actions of other investors in real time. It has 4 million registered users in more than 140 countries.
