KIN Closes $12M Series C Funding

kinKIN, a Santa Monica, CA-based global digital media company for lifestyle creators, closed a $12m Series C round of funding.

The round was led by Corus Entertainment with participation from Emil Capital and existing investors Mayfield Fund, General Catalyst Partners and Rustic Canyon Partners.

The company intends to use the funds for talent acquisition and expansion of its advertising sales team, original programming and new business development opportunities.

Founded in 2007 by Michael Wayne, CEO, KIN operates a lifestyle network on YouTube, which delivers female-focused video content across verticals including food, health, beauty, parenting, home and entertainment. In addition, its KIN Community incubates new online video talent and produces custom content programs with major brand advertisers.

Through its brands and network of lifestyle creators, KIN has more than 25 million unique viewers each month and has over 4 billion lifetime video views. Other KIN brands include Rosanna Pansino, Wayne Goss, The Ellen Show, Byron Talbot and the Emmy Award winning series the Lizzie Bennet Diaries.
