Shuttlerock Raises $2.35M in Series A Funding

Shuttlerock_LogoShuttlerock, a Christchurch, New Zealand-based visual marketing software company, has raised $2.35m in Series A funding.

The company intends to use the funds to expand its presence in North America, including the opening of its U.S. headquarters in Los Angeles which will be led by Jade Swords who has been named chief executive officer, North America.
Current U.S. clients include Martha’s Vineyard, George Washington’s Mount Vernon and the University of Missouri.

Launched in 2011 by Jonathan Hendriksen, Shuttlerock provides a white label visual marketing platform that allows companies to add social content to their websites. It uses contests and instant rewards to incentivize direct photo and video uploads from channels like Instagram, Twitter and Youtube to create commercial outcomes.

The company already works with over 100 clients across the globe in a range of verticals including entertainment, sports, tourism, retail and hospitality.

Investors include Japanese digital advertising agency Opt; Paul Bingham; Gary McCormick; Yoshihiro Kawamura; Maurice Eng; ICE Angels; and Jim Zarley, founder of ValueClick.
