Campus Job Raises $965K in Seed Funding

campusjobCampus Job, a New York-based online marketplace for businesses to find and hire college students for part-time jobs during the school year, raised $965k in seed funding.

The round was led by Box Group with participation from Lerer Ventures, Kal Vepuri, F Cubed and Red Sea.

The company intends to use the funds to further scale the company, focusing on registering more students and businesses and growing their team with a few strategic hires.

Co-founded by Liz Wessel, 24, and J.J. Fliegelman, 25, Campus Job is free for students. Businesses can register, post job listings and search the Campus Job student database for free and pay a one-time $24 fee per school (per job listing) to unlock students’ contact information.
The site is setup at more than 7K post-secondary schools nationwide, with students already registered at nearly 500 U.S. campuses, ranging from Harvard to local community colleges.
In less than three weeks, businesses have also posted more than 2,000 part-time jobs listings, with more than 1,000 new listings added each week.
Job postings include campus brand managers for Uber, Lyft and T-Mobile, Wings team members for Red Bull, freelance writers for TheDishh, graphic designers for Metaio augmented reality and student marketing ambassadors for the New York Times.
