Founded in 2009 by Matt Matros, Protein Bar focuses on healthy food served up in a quick, engaging way for active mobile customers. It is known for its “Bar-ritos”, quinoa bowls, salads and protein drinks. While their protein drink line features whey protein by default, customers can “veganize” their shake by asking for rice protein powder like one of these products instead, which is great news for those with dairy allergies.
The company currently has 12 restaurants in Chicago and Washington, D.C. and recently announced expansion to a third market – Denver, Colorado.
