Bruxie, an Orange, California-based gourmet waffle sandwich restaurant concept, received an equity investment from Catterton Partners.
The amount of the investment was not undisclosed.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations in Southern California and beyond.
Founded in 2010 by Dean Simon and Kelly Mullarney, Bruxie offers a new take on the traditional sandwich by using a creative version of an authentic Belgian Waffle as bread pairing it with a variety of quality seasonal ingredients for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert.
It currently has six restaurants in Southern California.
