Signpost, a New York-based provider of a local advertising platform for small businesses, has closed $3.75m in Series A financing.
The round was led by Spark Capital.
The company, which had raised funding in 2010 (read here) will use the funding to continue expanding its reach into new markets. To this end, it has also hired Christopher DePatria, former head of Inside Sales at AOL’s Patch, to lead its sales force.
Led by CEO and founder Stuart Wall, Signpost partners with local businesses, analyzing their needs and developing a customized marketing campaign that provides instant access to millions of customers on over 1,200 publishers.
The company recently announced partnership with Google Offers.
Backers in Signpost also include Google Ventures, Jason Calacanis, Jack Herrick and Thomas Lehrman.
