relayr, a Boston, MA-based IoT development platform provider, raised $23m in funding.
The round was led by Munich Re/HSB Ventures with participation from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, and Munich Venture Partners.
Founded in 2013 by Josef Brunner, relayr provides a development solution consisting of a cloud platform that communicates from Any-to-Any (any service, any software, any platform, any sensor), open source software development kits and industrial-grade sensor kits for rapid prototyping of equipment and services for the Internet of Things in such markets as manufacturing, infrastructure management and retailing.
The 100-person company has additional offices in Menlo Park, CA, Berlin, Germany and Burnley, UK.
Relayr and HSB are also partnering to offer customized insurance products for relayr’s customers making IoT investments.
