Diamanti (formerly known as Datawise.io in stealth), a San Jose, California-based provider of networking and storage appliance for Linux containers such as Docker, raised $12.5m in Series A funding.
Backers included Charles River Ventures (CRV), DFJ Venture, GSR Ventures, and Goldman Sachs.
Founded by Jeff Chou, CEO, and other converged infrastructure experts from Cisco, Veritas, and VMware, Diamanti has just exited stealth and announced beta availability of its networking and storage appliance for Linux containers such as Docker, a major requirement in containers’ progression from developer sandbox to production deployment.
The solution’s software-defined controls, which Diamanti has contributed to Google’s Kubernetes open source project, allows developers to specify their network and storage resources and service levels. The appliance includes network and storage innovations and plugs into existing infrastructure.
