RetailNext Acquires Pikato

RetailNext Inc., a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of a retail analytics platform for brick-and-mortar stores, acquired Pikato, a Chicago-based provider of a solution for mobile shopper engagement.

The amount of the deal was not disclosed.

The acquisition, which follows a $125m funding round, aims to extend RetailNext’s analytics platform to include Pikato’s cloud-based software that transforms retail mobile marketing channels into one-to-one interactions between retailers and shoppers.
Following the deal, Jesus Sanchez, co-founder and formerly chief executive officer of Pikato, is now head of targeted marketing & engagement at RetailNext.

Led by Alexei Agratchev, co-founder and chief executive officer, RetailNext now provides Targeted Marketing & Engagement™, which allows retail marketers to manage 1:1 personalized engagements across all retailer communication channels, including SMS, Point-of-Sale, email, in-store Wi-Fi, beacons and more.
