500px, a Toronto, Canada-based global photo community for discovering, sharing, buying, and selling quality photography, closed a $13m Series B funding round.
The round was led by strategic investor Visual China Group, with participation from existing investors Andreessen Horowitz, Harrison Metal, and ff Venture Capital.
The company, which has raised $23m to date, intends to use the funds to continue to support its community of photographers, and expand into China.
Led by Andy Yang, CEO, 500px is a photo community and marketplace designed to enhance and support the creative process for creators and buyers. More than 6 million creatives use its platform to improve, showcase and monetize their work.
The company also has an office in San Francisco, USA.
