Sagoon Closes $500K in Seed Funding

sagoonSagoon Inc., a Washington, DC and New Delhi, India-based social platform to customize users’ online shopping experiences and personalize content, closed $500k in seed funding.

Unnamed business angels made the investment.

The company intends to use the funds for product development and team expansion in engineering in India and US, supporting its upcoming web and mobile applications.

Founded by Govinda Giri and Kabin Sitoula, Sagoon originally introduced trial versions as part of their vision for Web 3.0: Social Smart Card and ME Page. Social Smart Card is a digital card solution designed to customize users’ online shopping experiences while ME Page personalizes content for users’ personal and professional lives, giving readers an overview of both professional achievements and social activities. In July 2014, the company launched a suite of apps as a beta test that included Secret and Occasion, allowing users to tell their stories in pictures, reveal secrets and share personal moments.

Sagoon has over 156,000 registered users.
