Empathetics, Inc., a Boston, MA-based empathy and communications training company that provides CME/CE-accredited web-based courses to the healthcare sector, closed a $1.5m round of financing.
The round was led by GDN Holdings, LLC and Key Venture Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Nathaniel Opperman, President of Key Venture Partners, LLC, will be joining Empathetics’ board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand sales and business development resources in order to implement essential web-based empathy and communications training at hospitals, health plans, and medical malpractice companies as well as to develop additional eLearning programs and systems in order to reach new constituencies within the healthcare sector.
Empathetics is led by Dr. Helen Riess, Chairman and Chief Scientific Officer.
