GlySens Raises $12M in Series C Funding

glysensGlySens, a San Diego, CA-based developer of continuous glucose monitoring systems for people with diabetes, raised $12m in Series C funding.

Both new and returning investors participated in the round.

The company intends to use the funds for further development of its systems.

Led by Joseph Lucisano, GlySens provides an implantable sensor with one year battery life, which wirelessly transmits information on a patients’ glucose levels to an external receiver for display and logging. The system operates without need for any through-the-skin or skin-attached elements.
