Solum Inc., a Mountain View, CA-based developer of advanced field measurement technology for commercial agriculture, has completed a $17m funding.
The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Khosla Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Andreessen Horowitz’s General Partner John O’Farrell is joining the company’s board.
Solum intends to use the funding to expand facilities and to add hardware and software engineering professionals (read here).
Founded in 2009 and led by CEO Nick Koshnick, the company develops advanced measurement systems and software solutions that provides the information required to farm every acre optimally.
