GAMEVIL to invest $10M in Game Developers

GAMEVIL, a Seoul, Korea- and Los Angeles, CA-based mobile game publisher and developer, will invest $10m to create partnerships with external developers.

To this end, the company, which plans to strengthen the global reach ot its smartphone game titles, has created the internally-sourced GAMEVIL Partner Fund.

As part of the initiative, GAMEVIL has recently acquired exclusive publishing and partial intellectual property rights of the “Cartoon Wars” series, including titles such as Cartoon Wars, Cartoon Wars Gunner and Cartoon Wars 2.

Since the end of 2010, the company has partnered with more than 10 external developers and games in varying forms of investments and global publishing agreements.
The library now includes Air Penguin, Chalk n’ Talk, Colosseum, KAMI RETRO, TouchMix, and Train City.

According to a written statement, GAMEVIL has also said that it intends to relaunch its social game platform, GAMEVIL Live, onto published titles in the coming months.

Established in 2000, the company is a premium publisher of games for mobile devices including Apple iOS, Google Android, Microsoft Windows Phone, Palm webOS, Nintendo DSiWare, Sony PSP minis etc. It is currently listed on the KOSDAQ Market (Ticker: 063080, Bloomberg: 063080:KS, Reuters: 063080.KQ).
