Cloudpic Global, Inc., a developer of cloud computing applications for the digital entertainment industry, has received a US$6m equity investment from Gobi Partners, Inc., and Singapore’s EDBI Investments Pte Ltd.
The company intends to use the capital to form Cloudpic™ Singapore, which is designed to go to market in Asia.
Cloudpic, which was co-founded by CEO Richard Chuang, an Academy Award winning pioneer of the CG and Animation industry in the US, and ex-Dreamworks Animation executive, develops cloud computing applications that are designed to enable artists and studios in the digital entertainment industry to produce content from anywhere.
The company, which has a regional headquarter in Singapore and a research and development arm in the United States, plans to set up operations in China.
