Praktika Raises $32.5M in Series A Funding

Praktika

Praktika, a London, UK-based provider of a language learning app that uses personalised AI-powered avatars, raised $32.5M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Blossom Capital, after a previously unannounced $2.5M Seed round led by Creator Ventures and Blue Wire Capital. These rounds included participation from Carles Reina (ElevenLabs) and Patrice Evra (five-time Premier League champion).

The company intends to use the funds to improve the app experience, improve avatar accuracy, add new languages including Spanish, French and German, and establish new development hubs in Eastern Europe and the UAE.

Led by Adam Turaev (CEO), Anton Marin (CTO), and Ilya Chernyakov (CPO), Praktika is a language learning company that delivers an automated tutorship experience empowered by generative AI avatars. Learners interact with lifelike AI avatars who tailor lessons to their specific needs and learning styles, creating a truly immersive language-learning experience. Tutors deliver lessons based on their learner’s aptitude and learning style, and can even interact in a range of accents, including American, British, Asian, and Indian. The more the learner interacts with their avatar, the more tailored the lessons become to drive results.  The app has already gained traction, boasting over one million active users worldwide and almost $20m in annualised revenue.
