Völur Closes $2.85M Funding; Appoints Anna Turvoll as CEO

Völur, an Oslo, Norway-based global software company that develops AI technology to optimize the meat industry and make it more sustainable, raised $2.85M in funding.

Backers included Serra Ventures, York IE, Saria, and existing investors Idékapital, Fusion Fund, and Fortress Fund.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.

Led by newly appointed CEO Anna Turvoll, Völur is a global software company that leverages data and AI to empower meat processors with optimal sorting and decisions to optimize carcass value throughout the whole value chain. The solution creates value through a balance between supply and demand, increases in the value per pound of the finished products, meeting service levels towards customers, and up to 10% higher utilization of animals.

Turvoll’s expertise spans scaling operations in startups, working with meat processors, raising capital, and strategic roles at prestigious firms such as Goldman Sachs. Völur’s Co-Founder and outgoing CEO, Robert Ekrem, will continue to contribute to Völur’s vision and strategy in his role on the Board of Directors.
