Verify Raises €1M in Funding

Verify, an Amsterdam, the Netherlands-based AI startup developing AI algorithms for images and videos, raised €1M in funding.

Backers included Niels Bouwman and Chris Hall. Google has also invested in Verify and included the company in its Google for Startups Cloud Program.

The company intends to use the funds to hire skilled AI developers and data scientists, and directly expand in Europe in the United States through its channel partner network.

Founded on January 1st, 2024, by Hugo Smits, who now serves as its CTO, and led by CEO Niels Bouwman, Verify has developed an AI algorithm that embeds an invisible fingerprint in images and videos, ensuring their authenticity and enabling them to be traced anywhere online. This technology has a wide range of applications, such as combating fake news and copyright infringements and distinguishing between human-generated and AI-generated content.

Clients include Vinci Energies, Erasmus University, and the Dutch national union FNV.
