Sumday Raises $5.3M in Seed Funding

Sumday, a Burnie, Tasmania, Australia-based carbon accounting startup, closed a $5.3m seed funding round.

The round was led by Sophie Purdom at Planeteer Capital with participation from existing and returning investors Blackbird, Wedgetail, Cameron Adams and Possible Ventures. 

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations across the UK, EU and US, and its development efforts.

Led by Jessica Richmond, CEO, Sumday provides a greenhouse gas accounting software for accountants and finance teams to deliver carbon accounting for their clients or within their organisations, with the same rigour and transparency as it is expected from financial accounting. The company also provides practical courses and support to sustainability, finance, and procurement teams. Sumday currently serves over 50 accounting firms, big and small, public companies and the mallest businesses in the supply chain.
