Redcoat AI, a San Francisco, CA-based cybersecurity company at the forefront of combating AI-powered threats, emerged from stealth mode, backed by $4.24m in funding.

The round was led by Pear VC, with participation from Leonis Capital, Sancus Ventures, Kyber Knight, and others.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate the platform’s development and expand its reach.

Founded by a team of seasoned cybersecurity and AI experts including and led by John Whaley, CEO, Redcoat AI uses the latest AI innovations to build defenses against sophisticated cybersecurity attacks, including AI-powered social engineering attacks that use contextual information, deep fakes, and human-like interactions.

The platform offers a dual approach to cybersecurity — an on-demand red teaming service for social engineering attacks, and mobile defense that extends comprehensive protection across SMS, WhatsApp, and other messaging platforms.

Redcoat AI’s genesis was at Inception Studio, a nonprofit accelerator for experienced founders.
