Qorium, a Maastricht, The Netherlands-based cell-cultured leather company, raised an undisclosed amount in additional funding.
Backers included Brightlands Venture Partners and Sofinnova Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Led by newly appointed CEO Michael Newton, Qorium focuses on creating a world where consumers get leather products without today’s necessary negative impacts. It provides manufacturing methods that are efficient and sustainable available. Leveraging biology replicates natural leather production in a precise, controlled environment and only build what is needed and nothing more, the company reduced carbon emissions, no methane emissions, and little water and chemical usage.
