1X, a Moss, Norway-based robotics company producing androids, raised €91M in Series B funding.
Backers included EQT Ventures and other investors. The round also facilitated a secondary transaction where existing shareholders Sandwater and Skagerak Capital participated. New investors in the secondary transaction included Samsung NEXT and the Nistad group.
The company intends to use the funds to bring to market its second generation android NEO.
Led by CEO Bernt Øivind Børnich, 1X designs provides:
- EVE, a smart wheeled working android built to work alongside logistics and retail teams, which is currently in operation across the world, and
- NEO, an a bipedal android with humanoid hands designed for general applications, which is currently in development.
