Vibrant Planet, a Truckee, CA-based wildfire protection and ecosystem restoration company, raised $15m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Ecosystem Integrity Fund with participation from Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund, Citi Ventures, Day One Ventures, SIG Climate, Globivest, and Coefficient LP.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Vibrant Planet provides communities and builders with a platform to plan for natural disasters such as megafires. Its software provides real-time scenario planning, monitoring, and reporting for natural resource managers, insurers, utilities, and other stakeholders seeking to improve community and wildland resilience to wildfire and climate change. The system calculates the potential avoided loss and ecosystem services value of each land management and community wildfire protection treatment, helping to qualify projects for carbon, water, biodiversity, and other types of conservation finance.
