ViVOtech, a Santa Clara, CA-based provider of near field communication (NFC) software and systems, has raised additional $24m in its Series C funding.
Investors include Singapore-based EDBI, SingTel Innov8, and Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, with participation from existing financial and strategic backers Alloy Ventures, Citi Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurveston, DFJ Gotham, First Data Corporation, Miven Ventures, Motorola Mobility, Nokia Growth Partners and NCR.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate its expansion into more countries beyond the 35 where the company already operates.
Founded in 2001 and led by CEO Michael (Mick) Mullagh, ViVOtech provides NFC software and systems designed to enable rich mobile commerce solutions for in-store payment, loyalty, marketing, and merchandising. Customers include merchant, payment, mobile, web and advertising companies.
